A new build can be complete and still look unfinished. Red clay, concrete dust, footprints, equipment marks, and job-site residue are often most visible during final photos and walkthroughs.

Exterior areas to inspect before handoff

Walk the property in daylight and photograph anything that will be included in the cleaning scope. Separate construction defects from removable residue before the crew begins.

  • Driveways, sidewalks, porches, and patios
  • Siding, brick, trim, and exterior doors
  • Storefront entrances and customer walkways
  • Curbs, dumpster pads, and other durable work areas

Match the process to new materials

New does not mean indestructible. Fresh coatings, young concrete, mortar, sealants, and delicate finishes may require lower pressure, different chemistry, or extra cure time. Confirm material condition and builder requirements before washing.

Schedule cleaning after the mess-making trades

Final exterior washing is most effective after major grading, material delivery, and messy punch-list work are complete. Leave enough time for the surface to dry before photography, inspection, or buyer walkthroughs.
